    Ads are too loud
Great show. Why are the ads triple the volume of the show? Very annoying and ineffective.

Intro turned into the whole show
There used to be a lot more and diverse content in each episode. Now I feel that they spend too much time talking about what the guest has studied and specialized in more than the movies. By the time any part of the movie is discussed, you’re already 2/3 of the way through the episode. Coupled with the lack of diverse topics talked about in each movie, it’s turned more into a guest talk show. I come away knowing a bit about one small part of a movie.

    Only reviewing Discovery+ Shows
Used to love this podcast, but it’s now basically just an advertisement for Discovery+. Also they seem to be reviewing nature documentaries more and more rather than debating the science in fiction movies.

    Great before Discovery
This was my favorite weekly listen. You get a good dose of science and comedy while hearing about a movie. Brilliant formula, but now it’s a vehicle to hawk the crap Discovery churns out.

    Add Back the Science
I feel like this show has gotten progressively less science-y as it’s gone on. Many recent episodes seem to spend almost no time actually talking about the science of the movie in question — just talking about it, recapping, and patting their own backs.

    A delightful combo
Do you ever want to learn stuff but wish it could be snuck in with laughter like a dog being fed pills hidden in peanut butter? If you answered “yes”, “maybe,” or “what?”, then this is the podcast for you! Won’t the science get too dry? No, there are comedians there! Won’t the comedians hijack the discussion for their bits? (I ask with love — some of my best friends are comedians.) No, host Ethan Edenburg keeps things mostly on track with an effortless balancing act between the two! This podcast has been one of my little bright spots over the past year and you should check it out if you are like me in that you like to be nerdy but like in a way where other people put in the research effort for you.

    Good idea but poorly executed
They really don’t even debate science vs the movie anymore like they did when it first started they just talk about the movie now like so many other podcasts already do so it’s basically a waste of time

    The Day After...
The Atlantic Conveyor Crisis was shouted out by James Burke in the 80’s in his PBS series AFTER THE WARMING! It would’ve been nice if he had gotten some cred for seeing this ages b4 the Silver Screen... Keep up the great work! 🖖

    SMH Shame.
Used to like this show. Now it’s nothing but people that have been drinking too much of the kool-aid.

    Love this Podcast!
First off: that opening with the Ariel (aka Darlene) from your Little Mermaid episode literally almost had me falling out of my chair because I was laughing so hard. I listened to it a dozen times. That being said, I love all the shows. The special guests and the topics, and the way off topic, discussions keeps me laughing/entertained while being educated.

    Climate Change? Again?
The climate has been changing constantly for over 4 billion years, and to presume that we can alter it in any way, either positively or negatively, is the height of arrogance. So buy a new string for your banjo.

    I wanted to like this
I started with the episode on The Shining. I couldn’t. Make it through the whole episode because the guests were awful. Excusing a director’s abuse of actors? Any professional in psychology should know when mandatory reporting was enacted, and knows the difference between psychopathy and APD.

    Great Podcast!
Love the puns, songs, and games with fascinating guests and a delightfully charming host that keeps the show moving at a good pace without being heavy handed about it. It’s ok if you haven’t seen the movie they are reviewing as it is usually just a vague jumping off point for an engaging conversation that we get to eavesdrop on.

    They know it’s just a movie,right ?
This podcast is the Neil DeGrasse Tyson of movie podcasts. And that’s not a good thing!

    Beware of Drop Bears
Leaving a review to offset all of the surly wombats

    I love it
I adore this podcast and enjoy learning from it. My coworker also enjoys listening to them as well while we are working. If a free-formed unstructured podcast isn’t your thing, then I don’t recommend this since they go off tangent often. But I do love the people you bring in and I love the knowledge I get from it!

    Such a fun time
Thanks for this fun and interesting podcast! I love hearing people dissect movies and tear apart the dumb stuff. The show does that but keeps things positive and refreshing too. Good stuff

    Love this podcast!
Some of the episodes have me crying with laughter. My favorite so far is the one on Pacific Rim. I really like the banter between Ethan (host) and the comedians, but the podcast also does a great job of picking scientists who communicate their research well. I have a PhD and I enjoy the science and comedy aspect equally!

    Good Science, Bad Host
Has this host ever heard of IMDB.com? When discussing the movies, the host doesnt even know most of the names of the actors in it ! Plus, before the podcast starts, does he ever ask his guests how to pronounce their names? He always mispronounces them. The only saving grace is his guests. Not the comedic ones, most are obnoxious and not funny. But the scientiest really have good informantion that you can glean from. Oh, and with most of these hosts, they cant keep from getting their political jabs in on the current administration. Must be a California thing. This host really needs to up his game... big time!

    Amazing
Host is amazing, the comedians are great and the scientists are top notch

    A hard listen
This might have been interesting but I have a problem hearing the word “literally” about every fourth word.

    All in the mind
Please do more psychological movies. I loved the American psycho ep. ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️

    My favorite podcast!
Lighthearted discussion with great comedians and scientists. I only wish each episode was longer!

    Would recommend
I love learning and this podcast is wildly entertaining and surprising academic. The chemistry between the experts and comedians is typically hilarious.
  • luxpermanet
    Obnoxious guests
Except for a handful of episodes, all guests are excruciatingly obnoxious. Proceed with caution if you must but I would not waste my time.

    Funny, charming and informative!
My favorite podcast of the dozens I listen to. Ethan (the host) is funny, charming, sweet, intelligent and really adds to the show. I love the format and the quirky guests. I learn something (or many somethings) during each ep. There isn’t anything about this podcast that I can criticize and I’m a nitpicker. Keep it up!
  • norahknowswhatshetakinabout
    I love it!!!!!!!
I love how funny everything is! They really do a good job with the science. Everyone else who hates this are all picky haters. 😉
  • TJMMJT
    Great Show!
Grat mix of comedy and intelligence!

Science + Comedy = This podcast
I love science and love laughing, and this podcast has both, making crazy facts so fun to hear. This is the only podcast I actively look forward to on a weekly basis.
  • califlt
    Bad podcast
Galaxy Quest show spent the first 15 minutes bashing Tim Allen for his politics, reviewer admitted never watching much Star Trek, and comedienne was unsufferable. If you listen to podcasts to escape from politics, get away from CNN and FOX, and learn something about science, these aren't the droids you're looking for.

    GREAT SHOW!
Last year, Doug Benson tweeted about being on a podcast about two of my favorite things: Movies and Science! I've listened to every epsiode of the show and thoroughly enjoyed every single one! If you like movies, have a good sense of humor, and like to learn from some incredible experts in their fields, you should listen.

    Best of both worlds
Comedy and science coming together in one amazing podcast. Bad science is one of my favorite podcast always looking forward to new episodes each week. If you’re a fan of science or sci-fi this is the podcast for you.

    Good stuff
I am glad I waited a week to leave a review, one episode had a guest that made the show unbearable, but I only have three left to listen to and loved every other episode. I am a nerd and geek, this is a beautiful combo for my taste. Perhaps something macabre? Us girls like that stuff.

    Hosts talk over each other
I was so excited about the Apollo 13 episode but the interruptions, laughing and talking over each other was too annoying to continue listening.

The best part of Tuesday morning
A wonderful show - Ethan is funny and endearing, the guests are consistently interesting, and it’s always fun to learn more about the movies they pick. I look forward to it every week!

    Bad Science is Entertaining
Interesting host and guests, entertaining subjects, great podcast.

    My favorite podcast
I look forward to this podcast every week. Ethan is a great host and hilarious and I love the comedian+expert combo. Not to mention I have seen/enjoy most of the films they are discussing. It’s funny and informative and always gives me something to talk about, I only wish there was more than one a week!
  • BrentDhanie
    Very nice!
Such a fun podcast! I’ve been listening to it since the beginning and Ethan plays such a good role as the ubiquitous neutral host, declaring the summary and asking the well researched questions, he instigates the science and the funny in a loose way. There’s always great scientist and comedian guest. I especially enjoyed the abyss episode with its dry humor. very well rehearsed and edited, a must listen to!
  • MattOrrin
    Funny and informative
I really enjoy listening to this podcast. I appreciate the tangents into the science, even when it doesn't address whats happening in the movie. Keep up the good work!

    BAD SCIENCE SO GOOD
Love this podcast!! Ethan is so funny and I always learn new things from the cool scientists on the show!

    Laughter and Learning
This has quickly become my favorite podcast. The idea behind it is clever and super duper fun! Ethan Edenburg has a great spirit, who is funny and is a wonderful host. I look forward every week for new episodes, constantly tell friends to listen, and hope this has a long run of success. Thanks for creating, Ethan!

    What a great podcast
This is the perfect mixture between science and pop culture. There aren’t any other podcasts out there like it! I do think it should be a rule that everyone, including the scientists, have seen the movie. The best one was the Pacific Rim episode
  • Jtoddpaul
    Annoying Comedians Show
I tried to listen to the Wall-E episode but couldn’t actually finish it. Problem with introducing comedians into the mix is that some of them simply can’t control themselves. They can and usually do become annoying; obviously they love listening to themselves talk. The topic is interesting but the host needs to do a better job of “refereeing” when required!!
  • Kmartshoppr
    Cool Premise, Poor Execution
I love the idea of a podcast breaking down the science behind great movies. Someone should make that podcast. Bad Science is not that podcast. Unfortunately if predictably, pairing a scientist and comedian typically ends with the comedian driving the conversation, and the result is a podcast heavy on funny asides and weird complaints about music, casting, etc and light on science. Weird for a podcast that literally put “science” in the name. More than once, guests neglected to watch the film or watched the wrong film. Not sure if this is poor pre-production prepping the guests, or if it was simply several flukes, but it ends up feeling really sloppy. It’s possible that this was the plan all along, and the “science of movies” was always just a bit to keep a funny conversation going. If that’s the case, it doesn’t deserve this one star rating, but it also should change how it’s presented (description, theme song, name, etc). As it is, I’m unsubscribing.

    Love it!
This podcast is the perfect blend of accessible science and comedy. The comedians are funny without getting in the way of the scientists and the information is interesting and easy to understand for the average listener.

    Great Podcast!
I've just listened to all the available episodes this week and I love it! The scientist guests are so smart and interesting and the comedians are respectful and fascinated. The host is so positive and welcoming. I've really enjoyed the podcast and can't wait for more episodes.

Be entertained while learning a little science
The hosts are funny and the science is real. Fun to listen to.

    Listen to this podcast!
One of my favorites so far is the pacific rim episode. Great conversation, great humor, and a great balance of science and fiction.

    Just what I needed!
WOW, this podcast is the perfect blend of laughs and real facts to warm my nerdy heart! Listening to the ALIEN episode was just *muah* (Italian chef's kiss) and the insights from real scientists are expertly paced and blended with comedy to make for a great experience. You're basically learning without realizing you're learning, and chuckling a whole lot along the way. One of my new faves! <3
