This pod delivers a stark commentary contrast between two hosts. Swisher is the standout imo, her lines of questioning and balanced approach elevate discussions with purposeful, substance-focused interviewing that cuts through rhetoric. Galloway meanwhile, is a letdown. Despite his obvious intelligence, his self-cultivated "edgy professor" persona consistently undermines what could be valuable input. His prioritization of provocative branding over thoughtful content creates a frustrating ceiling for the podcast's potential. The rare moments when he abandons performance for genuine insight only highlight what listeners are regularly missing. He also seems to do little research into material before the show, though both hosts could read online about the subject matter a little more heavily to avoiding defaulting to perspectives too aligned with tech executive viewpoints rather than reporting on real world impacts. Worth listening primarily for Swisher's contributions, but Galloway's style-over-substance approach prevents this from becoming the essential tech commentary it could be.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The projections are rife and cringy. This used to be a good show.

I’m sick, old, deep in debt, was homeless for much of this year, uninsured, have a mentally ill dependent, and I work two jobs. This podcast is a nice bit of fantasy listening, but fantasy for much of America nonetheless. It’s the rich chatting with the rich.

Love this duo and the depth

I enjoy the smart commentary on the most important issues of the day - I appreciate all of the work you and your staff do in order to put on such top notch shows. However, this rating would be a five if I wasn’t subjected to tasteless, sexist penis jokes from Scott on every show. He is constantly demeaning women and I am often debating with myself if the other content is worth suffering through Scott’s inferiority issues. We would all be better off if he could see a good therapist to help him through his issues.

Caution what’s with the vulgarity? I used to listen with my family in the car and now it’s F bombs,a-holes and overly crude jokes. Prof G is smart and knows brands so is this some type of Rogan copycat ?

You used to seem like a nice and even humble, compassionate person. I must have been quite mistaken in my interpretation. Now, all you do is brag about how much money you have, who you are hob-nobbing with, what hotels you stay in, etc. etc. Maybe take a humility pill, Scott…..it will be much more appealing to your audience. Bragging is not pretty.

I deeply appreciate content that challenges the intellect while keeping it real—and Pivot does just that. The blend of psychological insight, rational analysis, sharp business acumen, and much-needed humor is a breath of fresh air. In today’s world, that balance is rare and refreshing. A lot of politics—which is fine. The cognitive dissonance of hating Trump and Elon while loving Dr. Oz and Bill Maher is too “Ok, Boomer” for my taste, though.

The hosts are SO up their own a**es. It’s hard to listen to at times. Neither seems cool or personally interesting but they sure brag like they are. If you can get past the cringe there is some good info.

Value your insights, experience, diligence and passion. When trade between countries is mutually beneficial and respectful, they are less likely to nuke each other. Antagonistic approaches to trade increase the global nuclear risk profile. This concern should be the one issue that binds both the left and the right. No one should be sleeping easy tonight. Please carry on!

Kara is unlistenable. This much ego and insecurity, lack of humility and embarrassing sense of grandeur in an older woman is painful to behold.

I really appreciate the perspectives that both of them bring to the table, and that they can call things how they are without a partisan lens.

Thank god Kara’s there to keep the droning guy moving along who hasn’t seemed to learn how to podcast even tho he’s on like ten of them every day all day. Brevity is the soul of wit.

This podcast has always been one of my favorites but lately it’s nonstop Trump and Elon updates. Something I can find anywhere and everywhere. Miss the variety the show used to explore.

I’ve been a listener for close to two years now. I love the banter between these two, their (seemingly) unlikely friendship, and their valuable insight based on their fascinating careers. But I’ve just made the decision to unfollow the show. For the past 6 months, maybe more maybe less, it would be accurate to describe the show as “Kara and Scott complain about Trump and Musk for an hour,” and as much as I love these guys, I’m just tired of it. It just feels so meaningless to listen to these two people twice a week say “Trump/Musk shouldn’t be doing this! He shouldn’t be allowed to do this!” while Trump and Musk continue unabated. I think I’m just tired of podcasters who are all talk and (little to) no action. I don’t need someone to tell me how bad Trump and Musk are; I am well aware. What I need are people who are actually doing something about it, and who might inspire or enable me to do something as well. And if that’s not what Kara and Scott are interested in being, then I just wish they could find something else to talk about.

I have been listening to the Pivot pod for several years now. I’ve always enjoyed it because it passes my test for media. I find it entertaining and informative. But the past year it has become all too predictable. Bash Trump and Musk. Every episode is the same. If I want to hear this I can just watch MSNBC. How about some more news, guests, on current tech and media? Get back to what made you two popular in the first place.

I used to really value your podcast because I believed it was objective, providing genuine facts rather than political spin. Unfortunately, it has started to resemble shows like those of Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly,and Michael Savage, focusing more on spinning the facts than presenting them truthfully.

Loved this episode. JP is great! While SG jokes are groaners most times, I laughed out loud at the sock joke!

Kara seems bitter…..

Show has gone downhill. Kara for along time has been really extreme, but now Scott has joined her. For instance, this last show they went wild around Tarrifs and saying the US has it better than any other country etc. Factually not even close. Why can’t they do an ounce of research, tell us about what other country’s tariffs are vs what the US levies and report facts (go look at India vs the US). Takes 5 mins to do research. Instead they blast Trump out of their hatred. Pathetic rich limousine liberals now. Really disappointing I use to enjoy the show.

They need to stick with tech/crypto/finance/business commentary- their ‘wealth signaling’ is childish & silly, and, while I enjoy listening to her on tech, politics are sure not Kara’s expertise. Lots of other pods do politics deeper, better. Waste of our time.

Favorite podcast. Kara and Scott are terrific. Thoughtful and funny. Look forward to each episode. Kara you are awesome, maybe reevaluate how many times you say “interesting,” or “but go ahead” after you make a comment, and “I don’t know what else to say” - you get paid to say. Sorry, all has been wearing on me for a while. Still love y’all!

Oh great, we get to listen to this revolting pervert sexualize one of the leading politicians in our country at the same time we have a literal rapist as president. Scott has zero respect for female leaders because he immediately defines them as sexual objects and nothing more. He’s no better than Trump. And I’m equally as disgusted that Kara just sits there snickering. Imagine being Scott’s student or employee knowing he only sees you as a sexual object. He sees no value in women.

I’ll upgrade my rating once Galloway publicly apologizes for spoiling THAT ONE SCENE in White Lotus season 3. >:(

Love the podcast. Great conversations. I cheered Kara’s opinion of Gavin Newsom’s new podcast. I chose the Steve Bannon episode for my first listen and had to give it up about half way through. As Kara said Gavin Newsom was very complacent about letting Bannon pete and repeat his fantasy stories and theories. I could not listen to Mr Newsom continue to say that he “appreciated” Bannon’s perspective. He could have been more objective and less accommodating. So - Kara and Scott - keep up the great work. I listen to learn and laugh - and look forward to each episode

Kara is way over her head as she’s basically a valley gossip columnist.

Two highly intelligent people. Long time fan of Kara. Want to enjoy listening more than I do because they are informed and trustworthy. But the pretension, especially from clout tripper, Scott is abhorrent.

What used to be a good and informative show has sadly turned into a platform that cannot help but continually bash Elon Musk ad nauseam and allow Scott to humble brag about himself and his lifestyle. Boring.

Scott and Kara have a dynamic relationship that makes the podcast interesting. They make you feel like they’re talking directly to you about what they are talking about.

Scott’s commentary on Forever 21 I. This episode was gross. He should probably avoid commenting on any clothing item making women or girls look like sluts. Don’t get me wrong, no love lost for Forever 21, but whatever women choose to wear.. you just don’t have the right to comment. Also can he actually stop the long soliloquies and actually listen to both guests and Kara?

Someone please remind Scott that there is more to college than being admitted. Where are you housing an increased first year class? Have you seen what rent costs in major college towns? Sloppy thinking but keep repeating your talking points.

I agree with these guys on most things and they always provide smart analysis and insight. But Scott might be the most obnoxious (centrist) guy podcasting. Kara is much better but gives Scott too much leeway.

Your recall of how we learn from how we treat each other - how we have or can do the right thing ..lessons of …. What we thought we had to do …. Creatively ..in this story … offers opportunity for history to not repeat ….why do we keep repeating? Great film … review love you both …

Love the Podcast and insights. The truth is if “stuff hits the fan” for the rest of us these two will be sipping martinis making money off Trump with their wealthy friends. Dark glasses and a cool media presence and/or working at a disconnected “university”won’t hide your profiteering. I believe the term is “two-faced” and I’m open to correction.

Kara, I know you have young children, and that brings many upper respiratory episodes, however- your vocal fry is very hard to listen too- any way to soften with a different mic, etc? Thank you

I get you guys don’t care but the shift from thoughtful topic to hairy butthole just isn’t funny. Kara often says she isn’t offended by some comedy as like long as it’s funny- Scott isn’t as funny as he thinks he is.

What a couple of pompous and self righteous hosts. They rail on the rich while boasting of their own wealth. Their opinions literally PIVOT based on their political bias. Unfollow these two immediately.

This is such a garbage podcast I can’t believe anyone listens to this. Just like Jessica Tarlov, it’s a bunch of fluff without real sense and complete backwards thinking from such people who don’t donate a penny but want to take all your money and spend it for their social causes. F-

I heard Scott on Amanpour and Co., appreciated his perspective and thought I’d check out his podcasts. 12 minutes into the SXSW live show and my I’m happy to go back to not knowing who he is. Crude, arrogant, gross. And just repeating himself anyway. And Kara Swisher seems like a parody of herself at this point. Both tiresome.

I’ve been a loyal listener to Pivot for well over a year but recently, I just can’t sit through an episode. I still find Kara’s observations very down to earth and insightful, even though she likes to wear her access on her sleeve. But once you get past corporate governance and maybe some marketing analysis, Scott Galloway is completely useless. His recommendations for business and world leaders are superficial and uninformed. While I don’t share his sense of hair-on-fire panic over young men, I’m sympathetic to the unique struggles of young people. Therefore, I can write it off as a passion of a public figure. We all have our passions and drive our friends crazy talking about them. The thing is, I just can’t sit through his long monologues about how the world should change because I can always think of four counter examples that devastate his thesis. It’s just too much for me and I think you’re losing a listener.

Who wants to live in a state where you can get shot at an in and out, it’s 110 degrees and land locked, you can’t go anywhere beautiful without getting in a plane. Oracle is a dinosaur, ready to die. I know 20 people who moved to Austin and Dallas from Cali and are miserable. Surrounded by dumb, awful people.

Love your podcast. Scott please stop saying that Trump “looks good”. He does not, and It takes away from your intelligent arguments against his actions.
