I just discovered this podcast in June 2019, which is 4 years after the last episode of the show. Have listened to about 15 episodes so far and it’s really good! The host does a great job, very informative. Even though the show hasn’t been updated in years, the information is still relevant and entertaining. Hopefully maybe i can find out what happened to this show, very curious. Either way, very good podcast

One of the best of the firearms radio network podcasts

Greg does a good job applying his personal experience and getting you to think. I don't think he has to know every thing to get you to think about how and why you carry.

Great podcast for a citizen who practices the concealed carry lifestyle. California centric information in some cases, but helps us out in other areas of the country by letting us know what to look out for in our respective state legislatures. Also, the host is former law enforcement so you get information from that perspective as well. Highly recommended. Keep up the good work Greg.

I love the practical information that Greg gives out every week and the entertaining way in which he does so. If you’re looking for a lot of tough guy talk and false bravado, this is NOT the show for you. Greg is regular gun guy who shares a lot of great content. Keep on!

Even though I live in a free state, unlike Greg, I enjoy his show. He's informative and interesting.

I gave it a try, but he really doesn’t seem that knowledgeable. I think a lot of his knowledge comes from stuff he reads not from things he experienced or learned. It’s just not a podcast for me.

I started listening to the TP podcast thinking it would be about reviewing tactical gear, firearms, etc. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it drew me in and I have been hooked since episode 50 and look forward each week to hearing what Mr Bakken has to say about Current events and a little insight on CCW tactics. Mr Bakken gives a unique viewpoint on current 2nd amendment news as a former LEO and gives the listener good pints to think and chew on. After listening for a while, I have become more comfortable concealed carrying and it is encouraging to have someone like Mr Bakken support EDC.

I really look forward to this Podcast each week. His shows are usually thought provoking, without being abrasive. Truth be known, however, I mostly enjoy the way he manages to mangle the English language each week! I must laugh at least once each episode, keep up the good work Greg!

this is one of my favorites on the firearms radio network. its an informative esy to understand show and greg bakken seems to be a sensible, logical and all around good person. only complaint is i wish he would have guests on the show maybe not every week but at lest once a month or so.

I am very picky on the podcasts that I listen to and TP made the list. Greg's past makes listening the the cast relevant and he has well thought out topics.

When I’m not working as a full time dad and husband (father of three toddlers!), I’m employed as a Law Enforcement Officer in the Sacramento area. I hadn’t heard of the shooting at the Philadelphia mental health facility until I heard Greg mention it on this podcast. I frequent mental health facilities in the course of my regular duties and have always found their “no guns allowed” signs both humors and intellectually frustrating. I’ve even had mental health facility supervisors ask me to disarm while I was on duty in full uniform. Of course I don’t disarm. I then have to keep a straight face as I explain to these educated supervisor how a “no guns” sign does not actually change the laws of physics and thereby prevent bad guys from bringing weapons into their facilities. In short…Great show! Informative, Current and Entertaining!

The best show on the Firearms Radio Network. Diverse show with interviews or sourced material and sometimes random thoughts from the host. Great length for a podcast, listen on the way to work and get a full show in. Keep up the great work.

Like most of the hosts of podcasts affiliated with the Firearms Radio Network, Greg Bakken is not the brightest bulb in the marquee. He seems not to know what he's talking about a good bit of the time, evidenced by how often he contradicts himself in the same sentence, expressing an opinion, then almost immediately backtracking on it. Another endearing quality is his repetition of the same point over and over and over and over again, as if you might not have got it the first five times he repeated himself. If you want intelligent discussion of gun issues, try Gun Talk Radio, Student of the Gun, Gun Nation podcast, Handgun World podcast and GunDudes Radio.

I love this show. Greg Bakken knows his stuff. Good gear reviews, training tips, and discussion of real self-defense situations.

Greg continues to bring great content to the show. I really appreciate the material focused on mindset, skills and tactics (and less on gear). It'd be great to hear more about outdoor life and preparedness.

Some of the show content is worth hearing, but he really needs to break out of his "comfortable slave" mentality. You'll hear good tips and information from the LE prospective, but also things like, "all you have to do is register your gun, no big deal" (in reference to some CA craziness). Anyway, I do listen from time to time, but more often than not I can't get past the things that bother me.

I love the show but you need to break out of California! All of this talk about CA laws is great but it does nothing for me over here on the Right Coast. I wonder if you could get someone from GOAL to come on and talk about Massachusetts? Or possibly Gun Owners of NH? Just a thought... Keep up the great work though!

Great podcast with a good variety of material. I also love the shorter length of the shows compared to some of the others on the Firearms Radio Network. Easier to find time to listen to it and it does not drag on with dead space like some of the other podcasts can. Great job Greg!

This is by far the best podcast for gun enthusiast. Love the safety talk on weapons, and all the gear. More interviews with law enforcement please, love to hear their side of the badge.

I already listen to Gun Guy Radio, This Week in Guns, and a few other of the Firearms Radio Network's shows, but decided to give this one a try. I'll give three stars for now because it says it talks about concealed carry stuff, and will up or down the rating when I get home from work after listening to all that I can. UPDATE! Well, I got through 12 out of the thirty shows that I listened to while I was at work last night for the 12-hour graveyard shift, and it's awesome. The reviews were honest, and the training tips seem easy and very practical. I really loved that guy who was talking about, "Verbal Judo," and the CHP guy. His first tale of the Taser was hilarious. I'm a fan. Please keep up the great work. R. F.

When I first reviewed this show I only gave it one star. At that time Greg sounded amateurish and was overly basic with all his topics. Greg has grown tremendously over time and now delivers solid information applicable to a broader audience. This show now ranks as one of my "must listens" each week. I would like to see the main topic of some shows focus on discussing the "tactical" aspects of current events and news stories. An analysis of the failure modes that led to the incident and/or the success/failure factors that drove the outcome. Good job Greg!

Great weekly podcast that I always find time to listen. Greg's enthusiasm and content are always refreshing. I learn something each and every show and have added dozens of new links on my browser's "favorites" list due to great content and guests. Keep up the great work! I love the show and am all for more gun related podcasts but I think this show's missing a huge opportunity. More and more it's tough to tell it apart from the other shows on the Firearms Radio Network. Instead of a show with current events stories/editorial and product reviews, I think the host should share his experience/train g as a former police officer and do more tactical-oriented analyses of real-life self defense stories.

Gregg, great podcast, I have it rated #2 in my listening, behind God and Guns. I really enjoy the variety of topics. Keep it simple and direct. I like it. Jim, Ky

Greg, awesome show! You have the most attention-getting, descriptive yet concise (not to mention the best intro music) of any show on FRN. I wouldn't change a thing about it. You have a great amount of expertise and, although you may not always be an expert regarding the topic of a particular episode, it's clear that you've prepared ahead of time to talk about the subject matter. Your usage of guests and their know-how is fantastic and always interesting. Keep up the great work!
