    Unreal
Phenomenal investigative reporting, jarring and compassionate at every turn. And the final episode...no words.

    warrants
i hate the type of policing highlighted here… that being said, one recurring theme seems to be warrants. almost everyone, when they have their information run… have warrants. don’t commit crimes, you don’t end up under arrest. i don’t see how people fail to get this concept. this seems to be virtue signal heavy.

    Dan Taberski is the best
The thing I like most about Dan Taberski is that he takes fascinating subjects and looks at them fairly objectively, without the excess of crazy sensationalism that saturate so many podcasts now. Not everything needs to be turned into a mystery, and I really appreciate his perspective, his steady, intelligent analysis. This podcast, which I waited way too long to listen to, is no exception. Shocking, but not sensational. Incredibly well done. His background in television production and his disillusionment with manipulative methods in entertainment really are such an asset. I will listen to anything he produces.

    Dan stan
Dan tells such compelling stories on so many different topics. Always approaching with curiosity, questions and humor. Never afraid to take quick detours for much needed palate cleansers. One of my favorite story tellers. Keep ‘m comin.

    Another great season!
I started with the Richard Simmons one randomly. I really loved the way the producers approached the story. I told his story with care. I'm only 1 episode into this season but so far I feel the same care has been given. I sent these two seasons to all my podcast friends!

    Amazing as always
I was so hesitant to listen to this season but I should’ve known better. Dan Taberski is an amazing researcher and podcaster. This season is compelling and thought provoking and I’m so upset I waited so long to listen. Absolutely riveting.

    Well Done
Started this podcast a year ago but got distracted during the first episode and never went back to finish it. I just finished it. Binged right through it and I found it to be really well researched and well done. Listen with an open mind. Not gonna lie, some of it will made me sad.

Still one of the best podcasts ever
    Just re-listened. Still just incredible.

    It’s the process
As a society we have been needing a way to process. We have been lacking the ability do anything with what happens. By putting into words with insight, understanding we can grappling with what is needed; humanity. Mr Terbuski is able to do just that. He introduces us to the trouble, delves into the people and is not this what matters. Thanks you so very much

Binged it all in a day. Very well done.

    Another anti-police / pro-criminal activity commentary
As a police officer I see some of the trouble they communicated…but I was very disappointed that most of the podcast was seemingly pro-criminal activity. Until people take responsibility for their actions, we will see a continuing increase in the moral turpitude and decline for the rule of law that sets our great nation apart.

    Sheriff Auzzie/Ozzie
Interesting that Sheriff Ozzie was so upset about the five cops killed but not about all the hundreds of people killed or hurt because of police brutality!
  • Dosboyz
    Annoying
I made it almost 7 minutes in before the terrible host ruined what could’ve been a good podcast. I don’t want your opinions. I don’t care about your opinions. Tell me the facts and I’ll draw my own conclusions. Propaganda is for sheep.
  • triplebooyah
    Disturbing
Hearing (from the horses’ mouths) that these TV shows have been significant drivers of police recruitment is chilling
  • AppNerdNC
    Post George Floyd
Outside of the tv show, this is an outstanding look at how America perceives policing its citizens. The fact that this show is now impacting the new “Blue” recruits is chilling.

    Brilliant!
Dan is an AMAZING storyteller and I can’t get enough of his podcasts!
  • Stoat80
    Not much meat
Not really any revelations here, pretty thin premise for a pod cast. Yes, the show edits hours long interactions down to 7 minutes. Yes, producers pressure people to sign releases. Nothing you didn’t already know. Author has a definite prejudice against police officers which gets old fairly quickly.
  • SamNoHam
    This is a great show!
It really cracks open the truth of policing in America and shows how totally one sided shows like Cops are- this podcast is very humanizing and it’s value in honesty and transparency makes it one-of-a-kind!
  • Yolandenni
    Totally underrated!
I listened to this podcast when it first came out and it’s great! I just recommended it to someone after a convo about the show cops. It’s definitely worth a binge!
  • Glacdav
    PROMOTE!
This needs so much more promotion. With everything going on right now this show needs an instagram account. People need to know about this. Thank you for your work!
  • WhatEverHappened64
    100% must recommend
Eye-opening and so interesting. Explores themes like conflicts of interest and excessive use of force whilst exposing the truth about and the problems with shows like Cops and Live PD.
  • Forthepeople69
    I don’t have the words.
We’ve never met, but I have to say I somehow feel a sense of pride in you. The work you’re doing is so important, and this information needs to be heard. Thank you for shining a spotlight onto this cultural phenomenon through your intense and thorough investigation/ journalism. Keep up the incredible work and stay safe, brother.

Could have been so much more
This series feels somewhat half unfinished. It asks questions about the ethics of a show like Coos and tells you why it’s bad, but it doesn’t talk to civil rights leaders, nor does it talk about what can be done to stop these shows, or even fully explore their impact on society. A good start, but on its own, it’s lacking a little.
  • Schoncher
    Meh, No Surprises...
I felt like the host found exactly what he was looking for. Some great points and arguments get lost in what feel like a number of “gotcha” setups. Not quite as edited and formulaic as COPS’, but not too far off either. I wouldn’t say cliche, rather more of a let down. Was really hoping for some wowing info that I wasn’t expecting. Obviously there was enough in the first episode to keep me listening, but I can’t say I’m interested in other stories on this podcast.
  • BGWB95
    Informative and horrifying.
I had gut wrenching experience from some of these episodes. With that being said. It taught me a lot and I can’t recommend it enough.
  • TIK TOK CAN GO TO HELL
    Looks good
    I’ll let ya know
  • Chucklebu77
    Very interesting
It's as behind the scenes as you can get without the help of LivePD and Cops. If you love how the secret sauce of reality TV you should enjoy it. The 1 star reviews are cops and their families getting upset at the slightest criticism. 👶🏻
  • garydmc
    Terrible
It is a totally ideological bunch of claptrap. Don’t waste your time.

A Must-Listen if You Don’t Understand Why Cops was Cancelled
This podcast is well made and interesting, and I’m glad I listened to it.

Entertaining deep dive into an important issue
This podcast is a fantastic look into the strange and shocking TV show “Cops” and "Live PD" and their implications on victims, police, and those who appear on the show. A must-listen podcast on the topic of police and criminal justice presented in a fun and entertaining way.
  • defund the cops
    Strong content
Solid work. Seems the only people giving this low ratings are cops themselves or people who have never talked to a minority in this country.
  • Bikey Fandangles
    Defund the police
This is a small step in educating yourself about one of the many cogs in the machine of white supremacy. Thank you so much for this very well done piece of education that is truly informative and entertaining.
  • Gregalthoff
    Very engaging and eye opening.
    This is a fantastic podcast.
  • jcj-ok
    Truly excellent podcast!
It had been over 20 years since I had actually watched the show COPS but there was no denying that I ignorantly did. To learn the human suffering this god awful show caused made feel rightfully distressed. I am so proud of this podcast that opened my eyes to the blatant propaganda and I also think it played a part in the dismantling of both Cops and Live PD! As my grandma would say, “Good riddance to bad rubbish.”
  • MinisterBobby
    In tears
I came across this podcast the day we found out “Live PD” filmed the murder of my friend by the hands of the Williamson county sheriff. As of today, it looks more than likely like “Live PD” destroyed the tape or better yet, evidence. Thank you again for shedding a little light on these, shoeboxes.
  • Rad1sh Monk33
Well done. Not anti police hit piece.
So very well done. The only disappointment is I feel like they are not done.
  • Dirty07
    Just another anti police idiot
This guy is just a well spoken cop hater, but will be the first to call the cops for help, what a joke and waste of my time.
  • greggpod
    Great professional podcast
Behind scenes look confirming worst fears about these shows
  • gnomegirl71
    Criminalizing Addiction
That’s what is getting me riled listening to this. These are addicted people. These are not criminals. And if they are perpetrating criminal behavior (like theft), it is a result of the funds necessary to feed the addiction. This is not murdering, kidnapping, this is ADDICTION. And systemic racism or classism.Pure and simple. Unacceptable. Just heartbreaking and unacceptable.
  • aundre3000
    Media consumption
This is super important because it calls into question how we consume media and what heroes and villains we create in snap decisions without realizing.
  • Cocorowe
    Entertaining, but...
I was enjoying the podcast until I realized that it’s nothing more than an anti-police/identity politics narrative hidden in a COPS documentary. Propaganda trash.
  • lloydstrom
    Fascinating insight
There’s nothing uncovered here shocking or what you probably didn’t already think was going on with the show and others like it. Well narrated and interesting/fascinating enough to keep me coming back for more episodes. Just goes to show, never trust police.
