Xan in MplsOnomatopoetic!I listened to 2 consecutive episodes to try it out, and on those episodes each had a guest that used the word āonomatopoetic.ā If that werenāt enough, the girls enthusiasm and curiosity makes life happier. Make your life happier. Listen to this podcast. And you just might learn something too. No, you definitely will learn something.

kmegmAwesome podcastHaving worked in the space business for 30 years as an Air Force Officer and as a government contractor I love your discussions about space. I have launched, tested and operated satellites and rockets and I love that you are introducing people to the community of scientists and engineers. Your enthusiasm and very insightful questions stimulate our future engineers and scientists while also explaining how fun and complicated operating in space really is! Thanks for the efforts and keep up the great work!

WhaleLadyChreeestaTHIS PODCAST IS AMAZING!!!!!As a women with a STEM degree, this podcast was PERFECT for listening at work. I learned new things, and became excited about the world we live in again. Diana and Gillian did such an amazing job at delivering this information in a way that just about everybody can understand, especially breaking down interviews!!! Tamica did such a great job bringing the hosts and interviewees together on a level that helped demystify some EXTREMELY interesting topics!!! THANK YOU GUUS FOR MAKING THIS PODCAST I WILL FOREVER RECOMMEND IT!!!!

MLes412My New Favorite!!Gillian and Diona are my new favorite podcasters. Every topic is so fascinating and is presented with humor and passion. And I really love the stories at the end. So much packed into each podcast that I canāt wait until the next one. Thank you all so much!!

YessieloJust love it!I was listening to a podcast in which Gillian was being interviewed and she mentioned this podcast and thatās how I became hooked. I truly enjoy the way the episodes are presented the humor and mostly it makes me feel that I to can fall in love STEM . I am learning so much and reading more on topics that I didnāt think would interest me before but after hearing your podcast finding them just intriguing and wondering why I didnāt see it before?! Just amazing!

Lil Ricky the 3rdScience puns oh myI love this podcast. Informative, funny, and heartfelt. Each week I can't wait to hear what science pun they will open the show with. I love it!

Gregger0A great accompaniment to Radiolab!Great podcast! Engaging topics, well researched, spot on guests, delightful banter. Was hooked from the beginning and am always happy to hear more. Keep it up, you two!!

Manatee FanNew thinkingItās very rare for new pieces of information to change my perception on a topic quickly. The spider episode with Hannah Wood, however, did just that. I have not killed a spider in weeks.

CastPartyConvertFueling CuriosityAs someone who decided to be a cardinal (the bird) for Halloween as a child, and made my own costume that nobody āgotā, I LOVE this show. Thank you for providing a new entry point into learning that is fun, engaging, and fuels my curiosity. It has encouraged me to reach out to people and ask āwhat have you learned this week?ā And then I tell them about what Iāve learned (fire tornadoes, how physical dependency works, and the bizarre and unexpected neurological impacts of a pandemic). I love geeking out with Diona and Gillian!

65!!Dog fur for birds nestsLove your podcast. I comb my shelties out on my deck so the fur blows into the yard so the birds can get it. I found a nest built under my deck and it had a bunch of the fir in it. Great insulation.
-
LenKleinGreat showI listen each week and enjoy the guests and the hostsā enthusiasm for STEM. Fun fact - while reading I learned that the peak of Mt. Everest is made of sea shells. To go with the recent STEM fact that Mt. Everest is still getting taller!
-
B-ZenGreat show for teens and adultsMy son and I recently started listening to Periodic Talks, and weāre hooked. Weāve listened to the fantastic āBrains Onā podcast (kid focused, science based) for a few years, but now that my son is a middle-schooler, heās told me he enjoys Periodic Talks more. Itās not a kid-centric podcast, but it is certainly kid friendly. The discussions are in depth, and both hosts are inquisitive, and easy to listen to with their great rapport. It feels like a science podcast thatās easily accessible. Not too scientifically dense, but doesnāt explain everything like Iām in second grade. They found a great balance. Give it a listen!
-
RedflakA most enjoyable educational escapeI just recently discovered this podcast and I am really enjoying it. The hosts have great chemistry and they are clearly engaged and enjoy the subject matter. Each week itās a deep dive into a certain Stem subject but explained and discussed in a way that is accessible to the nonscientific mind. I feel smarter after I listen and I really enjoy the format! Bravo!

Jason Mraz ;)Listen to Periodic Talks!!!Smart, fun, informativeā¦like speaking to your friends in your living room but you canāt respond because thatās not how podcasts work!!!

WhyShouldIHaveToMakeANicknameThis is so coolI love this podcast because it explains STEM subjects for me in a way that is easy to understand and also activates my wonder and curiosity. I have often shied away from these topics because I thought I lacked the tools necessary to comprehend them but this podcast makes science cool again- Iām so grateful and look forward eagerly to more episodes. Also both the hosts have such a fun chemistry it is like hanging out with old friends who always make you feel welcome.

IMatthewNot Community It's STEM!Great to listen to Gillian and Diona talk to amazing people! Tomeka keeps them rolling, and they don't know their stuff, so they ASK! It's a joy and it really is STEM for the rest of us (I worked in a reference to both of my favorite shows in the title [NCIS] so I am also stoked about that).
-
ccstaubSo happy I found this podcast! Perfect mix.Iāve been looking for a podcast that is funny and informative and this is it! I love all of the unique stories and connections between episodes. I go between laughing and being in awe throughout every episode. Itās the perfect balance! All of the guests are so inspiring, how do you choose the stories?! And if you could be an expert in any STEM field what would it be?

Siggy1524One of my favorite podcasts!!I just started listening to this podcast, and I love it! I just found Bill Nyeās podcast, and he recently recommended to listen to Periodic Talks. As a HUGE Community fan, when I heard that Gillian was a co-host, I immediately had to listen! I just completed my first year as a professional aerospace engineer, and this podcast made me realize that I have very limited knowledge on the engineers and scientists that came before me. So itās really refreshing to hear these interviews and gain inspiration from all of their journeys. Gillian and Diona are awesome, and their genuine interest and thoughtful questions make this podcast one of my favorites. Thank you guys!

MJR xxFascinating!Such interesting subject matter, and so fun and relatable!! Really enjoying it so far.

AK_PeteQ&AMost interesting Podcast on my playlist! Could you do a future episode about the history and future of women in the Land Surveying profession? Surveying is a STEM field that has all the disciplines intertwined, and I know very little about the role women played in the development of my chosen profession.

is it possible to get a nameGreat discussions!I just found your podcast and am really enjoying it. I listened to the most recent episode with my 10 year old son and he made an interesting comment about the whalesā whoop noise. He said that it reminds him of laughter, in that all humans understand that noise regardless of what language they speak. Thanks for the great shows and discussions that follow.

Keep it in your pants, fanboyUninspired FansDear #GillianJacobs , when a fan asks you for the zillionth time to re-create something from an episode, can you just play a clip of that on your phone and save yourself, the fan, and the millions of us who hate to see you dragged through that muck again. Weāve all seen the episode and enjoyed it and I hate to see you have to jump through hoops to satisfy some rabid Comic-con escapee. Love you, love your show
-
H_G_M_1993A gemGillian Jacobs is a national treasure
-
BooksBooks7Love this show!!This is my most anticipated podcast each week because it is so wholesome and shows that Iām not the only person who nearly cries over new dinosaur discoveries. I wonder if each host could pick a field in STEM to have a career in in another life (or this life, never too late for a PHD) what would it be? Also, if you take content suggestions I would love for you to talk to Dr. Ebony Vincent, a super cool podiatrist, and talk about CRISPR gene editing/Jennifer Doundna. Thanks!
-
ICash1229Question for Gillian and Dionahello, love the podcast. my question is for both of you and it might seem dumb and i'm sorry for that but, i just wanted to know when you're interviewing guests how much research do you do on the subject beforehand?
-
sparkonautYes!Science chats and discussions you wish you had!!!! Must listen and explore!

gr8alchemistLove the science!Great podcast! As a scientist, I love the down-to-earth discussions of such fascinating and complex topics. Iām curious, how do you come up with the topic for each podcast? And, what goes into researching it?

Palindrome1441Fav new podcastLove the mixture of interviews, biographies and fun facts. I especially enjoyed the latest interview about volcanoes. ššš ššš
-
TheHealthyBritInformative and fun!I love my weekly dose of periodic talks! I find it easy to listen to and love learning little facts throughout each episode. The volcanic episode really rocked my world! How crazy is it that land wouldnāt exist without volcanoes and that they spit fire?? I would most definitely run if one were coming at me.
-
suddywanBest new podcastThis show is really a game changer in the podcast arena. Canāt wait to see how this show evolves. š¤©š¤©š¤©

brokemile1234Love it!I found this podcast as a fan of Gillian and now I can say Iām a huge fan Gillian, Diona, and STEM! I loved space and volcanoes growing up. Actually, I still love space and volcanoes. Periodic Talks has given me a new opportunity to explore both and so many other topics. I love it. Keep it up!

ZanH@rtBest podcast for anyone with a brainI am so grateful to have found this podcast! Iām officially obsessed with it and recommend it widely! It taps into the nerdiness and curiousness of anyone who likes to learn. I love the pro-woman and pro-diversity undertone as well. As a woman who works in STEM and a mother of a daughter, it is gratifying and encouraging to have formats like this to interest and engage both me and the world at large! I shared the first episode with Tracy Drain with my 5 year old daughter and she was similarly enthralled. I canāt wait for new episodes each week to enjoy and share with her (and everyone else, too!) Gillian and Diona are so adorable and sound like great friends which is also a bonus in listening! Thanks to all that makes this possible and please, people, check it out!!!
