ShaunrxChris is one of the most insightful professionals in world of recoveryI am writing this review to thank Chris for his incredible pro bono work for those that are struggling. Chris's work in the field is by far the most professional and efficient way to recovery I have witnessed. After receiving both impatiant and outpatiant treatment many times over the last couple of decades, I found his principles to be the best aprouch to true full recovery. As we all need to find our own road, his was the the right one for me. Highly recommend him!!

SA happyWisdom and consistent high qualityI have followed this podcast for a long time because I truly enjoy listening to Chris Sandel, whether he is taking a solo deep dive into topics like sleep and exercise or interviewing guests with respectful and well-researched questions. He has a great sense of humor and a humble attitude. His deep curiosity maps well onto my own. He also expresses gratitude for his clients and has featured some of them sharing their stories. I have learned SO MUCH from him!!

-
YellowLizardNot bad, but there are better podcasts out there about health.I listened to this podcast for about a year, and I learned a lot. However, I unsubscribed when the host advised his listeners to make sure our facts come from credible sources "such as the CDC." Well, I'm a US citizen and I'm here to tell you that there's no government agency less credible than the CDC. At that moment, I realized Chris was not trustworthy. Also, when the interviews touched on social justice issues, he brought this whiny defensiveness typical of straight, white men.

np1780Conscientious Info for EveryoneI listen to a lot of podcasts that focus on wasting disorder recovery and the Health At Every Size principles. And while there are so many great shows out there, few explore health outside the specific realm of diets, diet culture, malnutrition, and the psychology of disordered eating. What is so great about Real Health Radio is that it takes the HAES principles outside of the ED Recovery bubble and puts it into the broader context of medicine. Though the hosts do talk primarily about subjects related to EDs, they continue to cover much more, though with the HAES perspective that many other podcasts hosts/practitioners lack. It’s a great podcast for anyone interested in human health but averse to the triggering language and biases that other professionals use.

Virginia_in_nolaInformative podcastThis podcast has been super informative and has been a great addition to my line-up. I love that the episodes are usually longer as it goes the host and guests to go into a deeper dive of the topic at hand. If you are looking for a more in-Depth discussion on Intuitive Eating content look no further.

Alli StrChris IS the only health expert I trustI love Chris Sandel's Real Health Radio! As a former client of his, I appreciate every aspect of the work he is doing. This podcast gives subscribers a look into the way Chris understands health (his views are so different from the average nutritionist who fails to see health outside of weight loss). He continues to share practical and relevant health information with out the morality, weight bias, fat phobia or fear-mongering of the normal "health gurus". He is so genuine and he “gets” eating disorders more than any specialist I have ever worked with. Just as he says, he is truly non-dogmatic in his approach to nutrition. Thanks Chris!
-
Phoebe8787What a breath of fresh airWhat a breath of fresh air this podcast is in the era of all these crazy fad diets and thinness obsession. Chris Sandel has totally changed my perspective of what it means to be healthy. He is so knowledgeable and grounds his philosophy on health and nutrition in science, and explains it all in a way that is easy to understand.

david ulmerAmazingChris is an amazing guy, he has a way of dealing with health topics that is unlike anyone i have ever heard. i am a 26 year old male who had been dealing with a ED for about 5 years now, i was once anorexic but was able to get back to a healthy weight after 4 months in a residential center. i dont know how, but chris manages to understand the pshycology of a person suffering with a eating disorder so well. he speaks in away that its hard to imagine he has not ever had a ED because he understands it so well, even though it is clear he has not had a ED and has a very healthy relationship with food. chris is also wonderful because he does not generalize, he understands what works for 99% just might not work for 1% and he takes that into consideration. most of chris's work is geared towards woman but i am hear to tell you, even if you are a male you will get a lot from his podcasts and his website, and especialy if you are suffering from any sort of ED, body dismorphia or disordered eating he has just a special way about cutting through all the taboo and just has a no-nonsens aproach that will leave you at ease and feeling much better about the topic. thank you chris. -david ulmer

The ShawnzeAnother Great True Health PodcastI found Chris last year, 2016, in a quest to find more like minded experts in the field of nutrition. His podcast was one of the few that I felt good about after doing a good amount of research. Chris's approach to health is a literal breath of fresh air. He brings us back to the reason we search for better health. His method of teaching, coaching, and speaking comes from an empathetic perspective. He is a much needed assest in the fight against dogmatic nutritional thinking.
