superladkidAt least one of them likes the LegionAs a lifelong fan of the Legion of Super Heroes there’s quite a bit to enjoy from this podcast. Matthew is clearly a fan and adds quite a bit of insight and humor to his reviews. The same cannot be said for his cohost who will nitpick every issue he reviews with bizarre complaints. He also finds ways to interject his insane political views and judges every issue through the lens of modern progressivism. If you don’t mind someone blaming all the problems of the world on Ronald Reagan and have no problem with someone unironically using the words “problematic” and “toxic masculinity” every episode, than this is the podcast for you. I’ll keep listening for Matthew’s commentary, but the other guy makes it harder and harder.

Good Game Poor AppThe best Legion Podcast out thereIf you are a serious Legion fan, you must listen to this podcast! Stephen and Matthew are great hosts that are literally going through every Legion issue from the Silver Age on. It’s very entertaining as they get straight to the important parts of each issue, talking about the highlights without doing a frame by frame read of the book. It’s great as it looks at the concepts explored in the comics of the 60s, 70s and 80s from the perch of 2021, so there are some real honest discussions about the content and quality of the issues.

Whalehead KingThis is real LegionI expected to burn out on this podcast but these guys are doing a public service issue-by-issue. A super-interesting trip down memory lane.

brianiac 5.1Seriously, but not TOO seriouslyEnjoyable podcast with brief moments of humor. They go through each important appearance of the Legion in order pointing out important events and allude to how it would eventually affect later issues. Some of the stories don’t hold up well, and they point that out, but in a way that respects the time and other circumstances it which it was written. And the audio quality is pretty good.

TimothyMouseThanks for the great dose of comics nostagiaI love this podcast! The Legion of Super-Heroes were major heroes of my childhood, as I grew up feeling alone in a rural environment where no one else was just like me. They gave me hope that one day people of all kinds could live and work together in a better world. It's great to hear the hosts (and guests) have a dialogue about the issues and all the goofy, wonderful stories. Thank you for not filling your podcast with annoying, off-topic banter and laughing at your own jokes. I look forward to your progress through the future issues. I especially like it when you look at the stories through the filter of today's world and how times have changed. Keep up the good work and Long Live the Legion!

upstageOne major problemEverything about this show is perfect, save one thing. I love the production. I love the professionalism. I love the pacing. I love everything except for a really disturbing habit of host Steven Slager. In every episode I have heard, he repeatedly mis-identifies characters, or use the wrong names, mixing up lad, boy, lass, etc. It is as if he knows nothing of the Legion, and is hosting a show that he is ill-prepared to be talking about on any given episode. Perhaps this is on purpose in order to be funny, or cute, but I find it very annoying and borderline disrespectful to the Legion and to fans. If you are doing this type of show, know the names, and be able to identify Cosmic Boy over Mon-El in a panel, etc. I want to say this is one of my favorite shows, but Slager keeps making me hesistate because he seems to not be taking this as sersious as he should be.

KS MurraySmartest, cleverest podcast of its kindAn intelligent, thoughtful and funny take on the Legion of Super Heroes. With plots and characters discussed with a view on the culture and social trends in the late 1950s and 1960s, it's simply the best. These gentlemen are pros. And in the comic podcast realm, these traits make them pretty much the super heroes of the genre.

coolusernameGreat podcast!Thank you for doing this! WIth the rumors of The Legion making a return, I'm absorbing all the LSH info I can find. This podcast is perfect and the hosts are perfect. I certainly hope it continues!
