    Love these podcasts
I listen to these podcasts at work since I work 12 hour shifts 4-5 days a week. Helps the shifts go by fast. I also just in general love listening to the podcast. Even on my way home from work or if I’m at home. Just my thing in I go through them so quick that I end up having to replay them from time to time when there isn’t any new ones

    Hi
    I love your podcasts

I enjoy the episodes just one thing….
I love listening to this podcast but it drives me crazy that there is no individual episode details like they all say the same into but a different episode name! So the only description of each episode you get is just a different name and the same paragraph about patreon or whatever

    A fun listen
I'm very fond of this podcast. To be blunt, if you're a westerner and a skeptic the vast majority of these stories will not be scary at all. But! That doesn't stop them from being very entertaining and interesting insights into Japanese culture.

    Honestly the best yet
I look for new episodes all the time.

I REMEMBER WHEN YOU SAID KUNEKUNE IS REAL! AND IT RLLY IS!!!! SINCE I LIVE IN JAPAN. AND KNOW JAPANESE URBAN LEGENDS. wait when I was typing this I heard a tapping noise. Whatever. Anyways I was 8 and I was going to a new house with my mom and dad I noticed something. When I went to my new room I saw a rice field. I saw a black figure swaying back and fourth. I was blind so I didn’t rlly notice anything weird. So I grabbed my binoculars. For some reason my brother came to my room saying he saw it too. Since our rooms we next to each other we had the same view. He said the he wanted to see it first so I gave him the binoculars. His jaw broke in shock. I told him. “What”? He said it’s better if you don’t know. I was scared.. he started crying. I felt rlly bad I asked my parents. They said “what your brother saw.. was something y’all should’ve never seen” I started crying too. After this.. I shared a room with my parents ever since this happened.. my friends said that they also have a rice field. And saw something black.. I said.. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT LOOK AT IT! And they said ok. I was relieved that they didn’t see it and happy. After this experience we moved again. And never saw it again…

    Love this stuff
What you do is mad cool. I’m glad you stopped saying “eh” with every single sense of surprise or question. My only request now is if you weren’t so upbeat your narration. Honestly though if that’s your style I just have to go with it. I just think it robs stories of a need tension to often. The Hashiyakusama story was one of the best. I heard it first in Creepy. The sound of the footsteps subtle as they were was sick! Japanese culture is so different. Also could you add sound effects to your work. Stomps, growns, ghostly moans, bangs and all that.

What’s going on with the newer episodes?
I have loved this podcast for a really long time! However, these newer episodes have not been replaying. I can listen to it once but if I try to go back to listen again to a newer episode, it doesn’t play. Don’t know if I’m the only one, but it’s super frustrating.

THIS PODCAST CURSED ME FOR A MONTH
I enjoyed this podcast. The Narrator was telling a story and then after the story she decided to tell us that “some people have been cursed just hearing this story” AFTER THE STORY. I am not kidding you I had the worst month afterward. Besides that very enjoyable.

    Obsessed with this show
I can’t say enough good things about it. Some of the stories really creep me out and it’s just awesome. I feel like I’m learning lots about Japanese culture and Shinto through this podcast too. 10/10 probably will join the Patreon lol

    It’s AWESOME
It’s awesome! I listen to it almost everyday! It has some bad words in it but I don’t care it’s a great podcast. The one reading this comment should really listen to it! P.S it kind of scary so watch out
  • meekerL
    Unorganized
I really like this podcast and it’s stories, but it is quiet annoying that the episodes are so disorganized not even the podcast app knows what episode to play next. I wanted to start from the very beginning but it seems so unorganized it’s too much work. Also the stories lack something, is very tame horror in my opinion.
  • Sincerely, Ms. Lane
    My favorite podcast!
This helps me through my schoolwork and has me jumping here and there while home alone. This quickly became my favorite podcast🤍

Clear voice, interesting stories and minimal ads.
This podcast has interesting stories with a single plugin for the podcaster book for less than 15 seconds. Must listen.
  • LatinoLife21
    Great podcast
I love Japanese horror stories. And this podcast delivers.

    10/10
I’ve been looking for a podcast like this for a while. Something about Japanese horror just hits different than western stories. The amount of research put into each episode is pretty impressive.
  • Moodison1992
    Great Stories
Really enjoy listening to these stories when on a long drive. They are all so interesting
  • auto-de-fe
    Too soft
The low rating is strictly based on the content. The stories have no punch to them. This is merely a flirtation with horror, indeed, you’ll get no nitty gritty here! Enough with the Similac and baby food, where’s the beef?
  • LiamRalph
    Could be better
    1. The filter for the stories is weak. There are many stories told that are not scary at all 2. Don’t give an introduction to the story beforehand, it spoils it; just give the title. Otherwise, it’s good. These two things could improve your podcast. The main thing is you need to choose scarier stories.
  • nandreamer
    Love the stories
Great narration well thought out and just creepy but not to frightening. Well worth your time.

    Love it
The speaker has a soothing voice. I can’t listen to any other podcast now. I’m so used to her voice I can’t stand any other. 😍😘🏳️‍🌈

    Such a great podcast!
When I started this, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be good or not. But it turned out to be great! This has such a spooky feel, and Tara’s accent makes it so easy to listen to. Definitely recommend to someone looking for a good podcast!

    Glad I’m finally listening!
I’ve had this show saved for a while now and I’m sad it took so long for me to actually start it! I’m not typically a fan of scripted podcasts, but this one has just enough of a natural feel that I enjoy it! Japanese horror is so incredibly fascinating and if you’re looking for a good horror fix, then you’ve found it! Thanks for such a great show!!
  • Grrrrrrrrrrr!!?
Window into the world of Japanese horror
As a longtime horror fan, it’s refreshing, fascinating, and terrifying in equal measure to hear the stories the Japanese people tell to frighten each other. I’m thoroughly enjoying this Podcast. Thanks, Tara!
  • charleymon
    Really enjoying this
I’m totally into Japanese lore; it’s creepy yet beautiful. Tara is a great narrator; love her accent and animation. She does a great job, chooses really cool stories and adds just the right amount of commentary.

    Great Podcast
The podcast is just great. Excellent stories, great narration, and an overall great show. Keep up the good work, Tara!

    Boring
There’s a couple of good ones but for the most part these are really boring and the ending is lackluster. Plus her Australian accent really throws me off and pulls away from any creepiness that might have been. It’s just some white lady reading creepypastas she found online. All around disappointing.
  • Geminirose29
    Terrifying and unnerving
I’m new to this podcast but I love me a good scary story. All it took was the Uzu Doll story to get me going. Didn’t fall asleep till 3 AM.
  • Mrs Hollett
    Nothing like it!
Of course there is an endless supply of unique and creepy Japanese stories. But these are in English and with a voice that you can fall asleep to! It’s smart, cause I will listen to episodes over and over. My favorite podcast by far.

    Wonderfully scary stories
These intriguing retellings and translations of Japanese horror stories are hair-raising and exciting. I love listening to this thrilling podcast on Japanese horror. I’m a proud patron supporter of this podcast and plan to continue:) thanks for recording!

If you’re going to kill yourself, why don’t you sleep with me first.
I fell in love with this story. I feel like the guy. And I came out feeling like the girl. Thank you for translating their scary tales. I love Asian tales but I feel like half the battle is that most of them need translations. I feel like animating this little story and show you how this story inspires me so much. For something so looked down upon, this story brought me happiness. I have been feeling down ever since people let me down and I had put all my hopes and dreams with them. This has brought me hope and reason. Thank you so much. You have another subscribe from me.
