The freshman l.kAn absolute joy to listen to this! This podcast is great! It’s like someone perfected DVD commentary and we’re back to the days of hilarious, insightful, and grounded critiques of classic and modern film. Lucy and Brett have that 1 in a million chemistry that keeps you captivated and laughing the entire time. Give it a listen and I guarantee this will become your favorite podcast.

vpetraFun Witcher PodcastBrett and Lucy are great! I love listening to their thoughts on the Witcher universe whether discussing the books, games, or shows! They’ve also had some cool guests and interesting interviews. On the Path is a fun podcast for all Witcher fans.

JyoneoLike playing the game with your earsA few weeks ago, I was sitting in the office, staring at property tax documents, when I thought “Man, I wish I could be doing another play through of the Witcher 3 instead of staring at property tax documents.” I decided to see if there was a Witcher podcast to scratch the itch, and luckily there was! The two hosts are currently doing a weekly book club style play through of the Witcher 3, and each week they get together to discuss the plot, the different choices they made, and to highlight some of the best side quests. Unknowingly, Brett & Lucy have accompanied me on some brutal leg days, in rush hour traffic, and, of course, the aforementioned gathering of property tax docs. Even though a good portion of my 20s was spent playing and replaying this game, it seems like every episode they clue me in to some scene I missed or a choice I never made.

Vash69Opinions say he doesn’t like the Witcher.Brett is the Tucker Carlson of the Witcher universe. In the beginning when he was reading the books it was nice but once he started having an opinion of everything it made me question if he even likes the Witcher at all. After every episode review he dwells on the negative so much that it takes all enjoyment out of it. So many other podcast out there look at the good and may point out something but they don’t get negative about it and dwell on it a whole podcast. He has guest on who seem to only have played the third game and watched the Netflix show which I guess reading the books makes him feel more knowledgeable to them but it seems the feel and nature of the series is lost on them. If you enjoy the Witcher universe and want to hear someone constantly scoff and bash at something in it every single episode then listen but I’d rather hear expansive knowledge to the universe than someone put down something I’ve enjoyed so much because it’s not what they envisioned.

wordsthatstayThe Perfect PotionI’ve really been enjoying this Witcher podcast, in part because it’s never just one thing. Yes, they cover the Netflix series. They also cover the games, books and anything else related to Witcher. Some amazing guests as well! Definitely worth a listen!

Yagga LeeIncredible stuff! What’s up guys! Ive been a fan since the Oxenfurt chapter by chapter breakdowns. I loved what you were doin then but I’m stoked that I kept an eye on this feed because the deep dives of all things Witcher between you and Lucy have been more than I could’ve hoped for! Thanks for the content, the tangents and everything in between! I’m here for all of it and absolutely love the revamp/reformat of the cast y’all! Once again sincerely yours — Mark, from The Good Times Are Killing Us podcast!

girardspeedDueling AccentsThis is a really great, in-depth podcast about one of my favorite games of all time, The Witcher 3. I love the format of breaking the game down into its individual quests, since there are so many ways the various paths in the game can branch out. But I think my favorite thing is both of their accents. Who would’ve thought a Texas drawl and an English accent would blend together so well? Also, it doesn’t hurt that they’re both total cuties.

cren110Awesome Witcher podcastI love the Witcher universe and was very happy to hear about this podcast during a gwent stream. I have recently started listening to podcasts after getting my new car and my AirPods and this is the perfect podcast to get me more hyped about the Witcher universe and ready for the new season! Thanks so much for creating this. And also thanks to the person who recommended it to me!

Dmomsta75Thank you for the free content and a great podcastI really appreciate you making episode explaining the stories from the books. It’s awesome and save me time and money so I don’t have to read or buy the Witcher books. I listen to you as I play the Witcher thank you

thom l matthewsMy intro to podcastsI didn’t listen to podcasts until I stumbled upon this gem. I liked the books but didn’t love them. After listening to Brett I’ve realized how much detail and political commentary Sapkowski put into this. Brett really knows his stuff and is a truly entertaining historian. Not only that, but he’s a very kind individual and loves his fans and to interact with us. I hope he continues to make new content but if not I will just have to re read the books and give the cast another listen.

SmithOfTheWestA very good summaryAs some who has long enjoyed the books and games, this is wonderful. Sometime I think about questions I’ve had about very specific details, and finding my place can be difficult. Refreshing my memory is easily done with this podcast.
-
thegreatrrmLove the context it bringsI really like the context that this podcast brings - almost the reverse of an author doing research? I love listening to the historical perspectives and connecctions.

TheJastromRe-live the Witcher one chapter at a time!I've just recently read The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny and wanted to see if I could find a Witcher related podcast and lo and behold I found the Whispers of Oxenfurt: A Witcher Podcast. It's obvious that Brett loves the material and his enthusiasm is infectious. I can't wait to read more of the books and I will most certainley be checking out this podcast along the way. - The Jastrom

NeccoGoesRawrA Great Witcher PodcastI love this gem! It provides solid summaries of the books as well as really interesting insights regarding how our own (real) world relates to the stories told. His background in history and casual interest in philosophy really help raise this podcast up. I only have two complaints and they are incredibly minor. The first is fairly subjective but I feel like occasionally the creator can come across as unnatural when he tries to insert humorous asides but this rarely detracts from the podcast as the deliver is only off on occasion, and when it is off it’s is honestly kind of endearing. The second complaint I have is that sometimes the summaries can be unclear if you haven’t read the corresponding section of the books right before you listen to the summary. Again, though, this only happened a couple of times over the 40 or so episodes he has put out. All this being said, I 100% recommend this podcast to anyone interested in the Witcher Universe and those who want to refresh their memory of the books before the tv show drops!

NiceToMeeksYouInformative and Quick.Having played the Witcher 3 and read the first two short story collections, I found myself craving intelligent discussions about the world and the characters inhabiting it. Whispers of Oxenfurt is a short, succinct podcast that tickles that fancy and goes even further beyond that. Providing both insightful observations and a little bit of humor, this podcast is a must listen for any Witcher fan.

HyperCube009Finally!Great podcast! I’ve personally been waiting for something like this for a long time. Podcasts like this are essential for die-hard fans of the Witcher universe and will become even more important once the Netflix show airs. Your summaries are quick and to the point, allowing listeners who have read the books to jog their memories quickly. Couple suggestions for improvement below, though I would gladly keep listening even if none of these are feasible. 1. Personally, I wouldn’t mind longer episodes. Once you get into the novels, the discussions will be necessarily longer as there will be plenty to dissect. 2. I think the show would benefit greatly with the addition of a co-caster. Having more than one voice would lend a different perspective to the discussions and increase their potential for depth and length. Finding a like-minded co-caster may be hard, so maybe some guests or perhaps even someone who is unfamiliar with the Witcher and is reading the books for the first time to get their questions answered. 3. A segment to read fan-mail or answer questions could be interesting too, and would keep the discussion going Best of luck to you, great work on this young podcast. I truly hope it takes off, as I’ll be listening intently. Thanks for your hard work and keep it up!
