Nika HollywoodI love the Writing Contained Stories episode so so much! This episode was so wonderful. Your draft pick THE CONJURING got completely disses, but it’s all good lol. I really enjoyed this and took away some films to watch and revisit, especially THE INVITATION. One of my favorite contained films is Graham Moore’s THE OUTFIT, definitely a ‘didn’t see that coming!’ Shout out to Josh and Dave for letting us feel like we are sitting on the couch talking with you guys! Cheers. —Nika ♥️🥀🖤

Darrell-WritesEntertaining and Practical Screenwriting ConversationsTasha and Josh have an awesome dynamic that keep me coming back every week. They go into specifics on the page as well as tell some real-world anecdotes about the business side of screenwriting. I always leave the episodes with a new nugget of knowledge and inspired to continue my journey as a screenwriter. Their Patreon has a great community of writers and some nice bonus content. The hour goes by quick. I wish the episodes were longer! But I guess they have writing to do…

JoniaStudiosInspiringIt seems to be that when I listen to any random episode it makes something click on one of the ideas bouncing in my head and am immediately re-inspired. Tasha and Josh have such a wonderful dynamic, loves and laughs.

ThrillClinton85A great resourceTasha and Josh do an incredible job breaking down the screenwriting life. The podcast has varying types of content from interviews, writing tips, and script breakdowns. My favorite writing podcast because it feels accessible, makes writing seem achievable, and also talks about the ups and downs of the writing lifestyle and how to manage the emotions!

drivinglateLook forward to it every weekI probably listen to this more than any other podcast at the moment, which comes down to relevant, interesting subject matter and the personalities of the hosts (this is coming from someone who can't stand listening to a lot of film and/or writing podcast hosts). Also cool that they're building a community of writers, and in a way that feels genuine and not a money grab or branding exercise. I love the this week in writing segment, and my personal favorite episodes are when they get into the nitty gritty of the craft. Every episode seems to at least touch on this, though, so there is always something for me.

stevemothInformative and inspiring!I love this show! Tasha and Josh tackle issues in the art, craft, and business of screenwriting and generously share their knowledge/ experiences with listeners. Also, it’s fun. Josh and Tasha have great rapport and bring two distinct points of view to the podcasting table. Look, if you’re a screenwriter and not listening to this show… you’re missing out!

rudiwithsneyeSage AdviseCannot tell you how much I look forward to every episode from Tasha and Josh. Their honest, open, self-effacing rapport (and their ultra-valuable insights re: what it takes to be an effective real-life working screenwriter) are always deeply illuminating. Plus, they’re just truly rad, awesome people. Enjoy!

SmokinAces____Great show!Bring new to screenwriting, I have listened to a lot of different podcast and this is my favorite by far. Very informative and entertaining. Tasha and Josh have a great chemistry and I’m always looking forward to the next episode. It has been really helpful and I recommend this for anyone starting this journey

petersenReally goodThese two are in the biz slinging it out in the trenches and they’re gracious enough to share their vulnerabilities and trauma with every day writer issues—such an invaluable resource

jludwickBoots-on-the-GroundI can tell you precisely why you should listen to this podcast: there’s a top 5% in every field, and this podcast is it. Entertainment, Writing, Filmmaking, Animation - these careers spawn enough leagues of hopefuls to warrant a market that can put food on the table for the ambitious internet content creator and maybe even buy them a Porsche. The bell curve on content quality for writing varies immensely, some produced by people with little to no success in the business or worse: they have the knowledge but don’t know how to delivery it clearly or comprehensively. Not so with the Act II. Tasha and Josh are hard-working creators of great ambition. They share the genuine nuts-and-bolts of the screenwriter’s life, and do so with information gleaned from real experience, insightful observation, honesty, and content so real that you can actually make an informed decision on whether or not it’s for you.

Vj3456Authentic conversations about screenwritingI always pick up a nugget from each episode. Would love to have an entire episode geared toward baby writers trying to break in.
-
Tim HumeA top screenwriting podcastTasha and Josh are personable and vulnerable while giving relevant, interesting information that I haven't heard on other screenwriting podcasts. And if they do cover a topic I've heard, they bring their distinct approach. Fun and informative!

moregenrepleaseClear, kind, positive, relatable, groundedI don’t even look to see what the subject this week is any more, I just click and listen. In addition to covering all the artistic, technical, and business aspects of writing for TV and film, Tasha and Josh share how they (and we) feel about that and how to cope with / celebrate the process as creative people trying to build a career. It’s holistic. I love it.

MaddySchwartz8My favorite writing podcast! This podcast has been my favorite resource as I begin my career as a screenwriter. Every episode is crammed with information about screenwriting, from the business side (rates, general etiquette, etc) to the creative (genre, methodology, etc). I love it!!
-
ChazvoltaireWhat a valuable resource!I was recently approached by a management company regarding my screenplay and in researching if I should sign with them or not, I found this podcast. Wow. You guys really do a fantastic job! I love hearing your stories and how you navigate the screenwriting world. This podcast is a must-listen to active screenwriters and anyone trying to get into the biz. Thanks so much!

HannahRosner15WONDERFUL ADVICE!I love this podcast — Josh and Tasha have the best rapport, they are fun to listen to and give such incredible insight into the complicated and often mystifying world of film and TV writing.

rojo-felixMountain Lions in IrelandThoroughly enjoyed ep. 41! Great to hear an experienced and casual approach to the industry & craft. Also, tons of great writing games & software recos! I found myself pausing every couple of minutes to take notes! Writer beware: don’t go hiking where there are mountain lions just for a story idea BUT do take a month-long trip to Ireland just for a cheap flight! - Ash Lazer
-
EvSwedGreat insight!Really have been enjoying this one. Listening to Tasha and Josh chop it up about the business gives me that feeling of being right there in it with them. Good takeaway. Fun anecdotes. Can we all hang sometime?!
-
youtube.com/user/molokodarkFavorite Screenwriting PodI guess my title says it all, but this really is the screenwriting podcast I most look forward to (of the four I listen to weekly). The hosts are funny and down-to-earth and they maintain a healthy balance between discussions of craft vs. industry topics. They also never sound preachy or too cool for school.
-
Ableton AussieJust the best. THANK YOU!This podcast is like the loyal friend that ALSO dishes out alllll the help/advice nuggets I didn’t know I needed. All the love for Act Two!
-
TObeWansThe BEST podcast for screenwriters who are starting out.Tasha and Josh are two serious writers who live the craft and share some gold about the nuts and bolts of what it’s really like to be a working writer in Hollywood. The pitches series alone can save you years of hard lessons.
-
OdetomyberriesLEGIT Info! Thanks to Tasha for putting this info all in one place. Pretty much the only podcast I listen to re: screenwriting.
-
KimmerPimmerA Must Listen for ScreenwritersThere are a lot of Podcasts out there about screenwriting. Very few of them cover the nuts and bolts of breaking into the business and how to be an entry-level working writer.
-
arbuthnot4Ground level viewIt’s so refreshing to hear a podcast from writers who are working out of apartments instead of mansions about what it’s really like to survive in the film business.
-
plaavGreat Screenwriting PodcastThis is a great screenwriting podcast that focuses on new and emerging writers, and the current state of the industry from in (the often unpaid) trenches. It’s a much needed perspective that podcasts like Scriptnotes with its veteran, A-list screenwriters, just can’t give. Highly recommended.
