Trust Your Gut

7

Trust Your Gut, hosted by Demi Fair, dives into the world of the mind-body connection. We explore the emerging science of the gut-brain axis and microbiome, while harnessing the power of intuition and connection to spirit. We dig into nervous system health and trauma, understanding how this is a key piece in our gut-brain and overall health imbalances, and learn new resources for building resilience. If you struggle with chronic digestive and mental stress, and are tired of trying “just one more diet” to address your symptoms, then this is the place for you. Sprinkled with personal stories of a lifetime of chronic gut-brain symptoms and a deep exploration of her inner world, Demi is here to help guide you to trust your gut. Demi is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) and in training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

    Insightful, educational, and witty podcast!
This podcast is an oasis of clarity and wisdom in an ocean of ads with partial and/or misinformation. Demi has a humble, genuine, confident, wise, funny, disarming, vulnerable, and authentic conversational approach to explaining everything there is to know about IBS. She’s a natural at embodying and articulating what she preaches. Because she’s been there and like many of us tried just about everything, she’s able to really relate and empathize deeply with those of us who struggle with IBS. To get where she is now with a deep understanding of how nervous system dysregulation affects IBS, Demi heeded the call to adventure and followed her bliss (and blisters!) to the “ends of the earth”. Instead of monetizing her travels on SM, she came “down the mountain” to share her gifts of what she learned from her inward and outward journey. For true healing, the world desperately needs more of us to look into the root causes of our individual and societal suffering. They are both so connected. In the case of gut issues, Demi is looking holistically at the root cause of all gut-brain issues, upstream at the source rather than just downstream by treating symptoms or providing quick fixes like most of society is doing. Demi’s podcast is so enjoyable to listen to. It's authentic and vulnerable, as though you were listening to a really wise mentor. I've had excellent stress/resiliency practices for close to three decades, but never looked at nervous system dysregulation or childhood trauma. Demi is able to shine the light of awareness and help with this piece of the puzzle! 10/10!

    Finally an alternative
I’ve suffered from severe gut issues for over a decade. I have tried 3 GI doctors, 6 different naturopaths/functional md’s, brain retraining, and every elimination diet out ther but the symptoms continue to linger. I’m so thankful for an alternative option from someone who knows what it’s like to have debilitating gut symptoms.

One of the best gut-brain podcasts out there
I’ve spent the last 10 years trying to figure out my gut health, and only learned fairly recently the link between the gut and the brain. This podcast dives deep into how the gut works, how the brain effects the gut, and most importantly, it dives into the missing link SO many doctors, naturopaths, therapists, and specialist miss: nervous system regulation.

    LOVE this podcast!
Demi and her knowledge of the gut-brain connection has helped me understand my health in ways I never could have imagined before. She has such a clear and effective way of explaining a pretty complex topic. She also adds in just the right amount of personal flair to keep me engaged while also learning. I especially loved her episode 8, Nervous System 101. Definitely worth giving a listen!

    I enjoyed your podcast!
I enjoyed your podcast! The sharing of your personal journey was so honest, genuine, and impactful. Truly, thank you for being so transparent about your mental health experience too. I struggle with IBS as well. I related to your experience and saw pieces of my own story become much clearer as I listened to you. Especially, the relationship between IBS and mental health. I resonate with how you have found much healing in nature and somatics. It's something I'm just beginning to explore. Can't wait for your next episode! Congratulations, girl! You knocked it out of the ballpark🤩!
