    Absolutely love it!
I am a new flower farmer heading into our third growing season and I am incredibly grateful that these ladies do this invaluable podcast!! To be honest last year when I first started listening to an episode I randomly chose as my first episode I did think , oh no this is going to be hard to listen to because they reminded me of the SNL skit of the church ladies, but it only took like 5 minutes to get over that. I have since gone all the way back to episode one and binge listened to EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, I absolutely adore these two, I have laughed out loud, ugly cried and learned SO MUCH! I love the new Uncut episodes and look forward to hearing from both of these gals every single week! Thanks for supporting all us flowers farmers out here and sharing your knowledge!

Thank you so much for covering insurance for agrotourism!!
This was the part of urban farming that I really couldn’t find good resources on. An incredibly valuable resource for new and seasoned growers!! Please continue to cover topics like proper insurance coverage, licensing, good business practices, etc.

The number one podcast for flower farmers
A great mix of growing, marketing and business advice for flower farmers. I always come away from every episode with an ideas or suggestion that I’m excited to try out.

    So glad I found you!
I’m only three episodes in and you have already answered so many of my questions. I feel like I have two personal mentors and actionable advice that can be immediately implemented. I finish each episode with something to try! I love it. Thank you, Veronica Instagram @smallpatchpetals

    Love you gals!
6b and fellow southern Ohioan learning the ropes of my new obsession. Second year flower “farmer” and am learning and laughing constantly with yall. I truly appreciate your knowledge and putting in all the hard work years in advance so I don’t have to fail big!

    A highlight of my week
I really enjoy hearing from Lyndsay and Shannon each week. They make me laugh, validate my feelings, sometimes they say the things I think and don’t say 🤣, and they help me accept that my journey in flowers doesn’t have to match everyone else’s. I was listening a few episodes back when they were talking about choosing our word for 2025 and to myself I whispered “peace” and within a few seconds one of them was talking about peace also, so I took that as a sign it should definitely be my word of 2025. Here’s to a great New Year full of Peace! (Someday I will be a dirtbag!)

    Flower Friends
Leaving the farm is a rarity during the growing season, which is all the more reason I look forward to this weekly podcast. It's entertaining, educational, and best of all, a lot like hanging out with real friends.

    So honest! & Needed
I’ve been listening to this podcast since day one! But I’ve honestly listened to the episodes at least twice sometimes three or four times. They are honest and it’s comforting to know the true dirt on Flowers! I am a seasoned grower- but I still find things I need to be reminded of! These ladies have true grit, and I love being a dirtbag!

    Best flower farming podcast
I listen to A LOT of flower farming podcasts, and this one is by far my favorite. Shannon and Lyndsay are super fun to listen to and it feels like you’re just chatting about flowers with them. They offer tons of great information about both growing and the business side of flower farming.

    A delight to listen to
I love starting every Friday morning listening to these ladies’ banter and give practical flower farming advice. They are able to effortlessly engage the listener with interesting personal stories while also educating on how to grow your flower farming business. There’s so much to learn from them that I plan on binge listening to past episodes this winter.

    Sorry this took so long
I have no idea why I haven’t left a review for these two fantastic ladies doing this podcast. I have listened since the first show and am even part of the dirtbag flower group. Every week I take something away useful to my little flower farm here in Maine or just something that make me know I’m not crazy and it’s all just a learning curve or experience. I’ve laughed and cried depending on the subject but just love the human aspect that you bring to every show. So much great information and just good fun to listen to every week. Not a Flower Farm but…
I am an avid flower gardener—I listen to this podcast religiously. Not only do I always learn something, but the conversations between Lyndsey and Shannon as well as their guests are so much fun to listen to. Thanks so much ladies for making my two hours worth of commute time go so quickly!

    Real detailed advice!
As a 2nd year cut flower gardener I realize how difficult it can be to get those real life how to’s or experienced based advice. This team gives the deets for so many areas of flower farming. This podcast is a must listen!!!

    Balanced Advice in flower farming
This is my 14th year in flower farming and I enjoy this podcast so much because, not do Lindsey and Shannon share great flower farming practices, but they also deal with the mental and emotional side of flower farming. The mental and emotional part of flower farming, like dealing with crop failures or weather events or personal challenges can be just as exhausting and difficult as the physical part of farming. I really appreciate that they share honestly about their own challenges and also ask their guests to do the same. They are also fun to listen to and even tho I’ve been farming for awhile- I still get good take-aways from every episode. 😊 Wanda at Fox Hollow Peonies in Alaska!

    Love this show!!!
I have listened to several podcasts and there are only a handful that I make time out of my week to listen to religiously and the Dirt on Flowers is my number 1. Listening to Lindsey and Shannon is like listening to friends. They are funny, knowledgeable and down-to-earth. They have great guests and their show never disappoints. If you are in the flower farming business or thinking about it. This podcast is a great place to start to gather the knowledge, tips and tricks to help you on your journey.

    Good Information
Thanks for sharing all your information! I am year 2 Flower Farmer and working part time as Nurse Practitioner. I did grow vegetables with flowers for 5 years prior. I started Lisianthus and Dahlias from seed for fun because I was too cheap to at for tubers for something I didn’t know how to care for. First year had 5 CSA members, events and farmers market. I just laugh listening to you both! I discovered you and started binge listening. I was quickly addicted.

    Good stuff!
I love this podcast because it feels like I finally have some flower farming friends. I love the way the girls chat about their lives and it feels like I’m right there with them. I love all the information that is shared because as a beginning flower farmer it all helps me to define how I want to run my business….it’s not just fluffy, but it gets down to the nitty-gritty of making successful business. Thanks girls!

    Flower Friends in the Know!
You will learn and laugh with Lyndsay & Shannon, as you get those actionable business & marketing goodies. They recognize we are all at different levels in our flower growing journey, so the conversations are relevant, applicable, and inspiring…while at the same time reminding us ‘we can do it our way’ so that flower farming makes sense for our own specific business life-vision.

    Wishing to be a dirtbagger
You guys are my favorite podcast and I’m so happy that you post consistently. I’ve been here since day one and would love to be part of the Insiders but I’m not within the required criteria yet. Sometimes I see a podcast title and think “that won’t apply to me” but I love hanging out with you guys so I listen anyways. Well 9.9/10 times I learn something new or get a timely reminder. I often re-listen to episodes because there is so much good information packed into them. I will probably never be a lucrative flower farm but growing flowers is a huge part of my life, whether it leads to doing wholesale or just spreading joy with my flowers or if it only means creating beautiful spaces with them. You guys have taught me a lot. Thank-you! At this point in my life I apply a lot of the advice to the orchard my brother owns. Highly recommend this podcast to ANY small business owner.

    Dirtbags unite!
My husband (Budget Burt) and I are first year aspiring flower farmers. When I first started dipping my toes into the compost, I searched for podcasts and came across this one. Not only has the content been relevant, it’s motivating and applicable to every zone and every level of flower farmer. Tips and tricks and deep dives on topics that I’m interested in. I went back and started listening from episode 1 because I enjoyed it so much. Shannon and Lindsey have created this invaluable audio library and a support group where all the other dirt bags can gather and share and experience. The real life experiences, motivational talks and realistic but dont-give-up attitudes keep me coming back. I told Budget Burt I’d found my people - and then to hear Lyndsay was a former HR manager much like my current self?! This community is why I am here. There’s room for me. Thank you, ladies and dirtbags, for giving me this support and knowledge. 10/10, two thumbs up, would recommend.

    A highlight to my day!
I can’t wait to listen to this podcast each week! Love the topics, the wisdom, and the honesty that is shared between the hosts and guests about flower farming, their successes, as well as their failures. You have got to check out The Dirt on Flowers podcast!

    Fun hearts lots of laughs
Real flowers, real friends, listening to the two of these gals feels like spending time with friends. As an insider from the beginning I have been able to form friendships and relationships with other flower farmers that I never would have otherwise. Last few months have been very though for me but the post cast has alway been a bright spot in the week.

The best mix of business savvy, grower info, & relatable humor!
There are so many podcasts that focus on learning how to grow flowers, but what do you do with them when they actually survive and flourish?! Shannon & Lyndsay give both grower info (especially in season 1) and business advice specific to running a successful flower farm so that you can turn your hobby into a profitable business. It’s quality advice dished out in an entertaining, personable and relatable way. This is always the first podcast I listen to every week! Thanks Shannon & Lyndsay!

    Love this podcast
If you are looking for honest, genuine information on flower farming, this is the podcast for you. There are no magic beans here only good facts on family. The easy banter between Lindsay and Shannon makes you feel like you are part of their inner circle. I look forward to each Friday’s episode.
