GSMC Classics: Adventures of Philip Marlowe

First broadcast in 17 June 1947, on NBC radio under the title Adventures of Philip Marlowe, with Van Heflin playing Marlowe, then moved to CBS, in 1948, with Gerald Mohr playing Marlowe. The show was a detective drama, more hard-boiled than many of the other private detective shows of the time, containing few quips or quaint characters. GSMC Classics presents some of the greatest classic radio broadcasts, classic novels, dramas, comedies, mysteries, and theatrical presentations from a bygone era. 5 STARS for Phillip Marlowe!!!
I LOVE Phillip Marlowe be & all aspects of this radio show. There is just “something” about P. Marlowe though. The sound of his voice, originally done by Van Heflin (Great!) but after the first season V.H. couldn’t continue so replaced by AHH(!) can’t remember his name BUT the guy that replaced him is even better! His voice is perfect. Anyway it’s a great show & I hope it stays on for many, many years!!
