King Willy NYCFavorite podcast of the yearNothing but 10s across this board for this podcast. I always love the serotonin rush I get when I see a new episode update about one of my fav films…can NEVER get enough Nancy Meyers content (would love an It’s Complicated ep even if it’s with one of the producers, etc). Also making an Oscar season plug for Babygirl content. Love you both!!

mfallikCan’t deal anymore with the host’s affirmations“Yeah yeah uh huh yup sure yes yeah yeah.” Such a missed opportunity. The host is clearly connected, getting impressive guests. But her interview style is just so annoying. I tried. Eternal Sunshine is my favorite movie of all time. Couldn’t get through half the episode. Unsubscribe.

Smells Like Tom SkerrittQuirks of Interview Style Turned Me Away“Yeah. Right. Right. Sure. Yeah. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. No way. Right. Uh huh. Yeah. No way. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Ok. Ok.” Vocal affirmations have their place in pushing a conversation along, to be sure. But the way they’re incorporated here by the host is beyond distracting. I tuned in excited to hear more about my favorite film of all time, but couldn’t make it more than a few minutes.

De Vanna 7654The host says “yeah” a lotI’m glad this podcast exists. It has a lot of value and I love learning different aspects of the filmmaking process. Having said that, though, as I listen to the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind episode (July 17, 2024), I’m bowled over at how many times the host Daniela said “yeah.” It really detracted from the episode. I hope it’s something she’ll work on reducing in future episodes; it was very distracting to hear “yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, etc” while the guest was talking. It sounded less like she was indicating that she was following along and more like she wanted to rush him so she could speak. My intention in writing this feedback is to be constructive because I really do like the podcast. However, I found the aforementioned to be a really overpowering element in the audio experience

A peeved fanLove active listening, but…Enjoy the show but wish the host would stop saying “yeah,” “okay,” “right, ” etc. incessantly as the guest speaks.

pattycky2020Must listen podcastI’ve been looking for a podcast like this for years!! As an independent film producer I appreciate this type of content and need more of it! I aspire to take risks and succeed like Daniella and Becca and greatly appreciate them passing along information that is so incredibly challenging to find. Please keep putting out episodes! It’s a perfect balance of entertainment and information.

Vanessa MenObsessed with this podcastI can’t stop listening to every episode. It’s so fun to learn about how these movies got made. And such a great host!!

mspassell445764 stars!!!!It’s like You Must Remember This for more recent movies, the ones you’ve watched a million times and want to know all the details about. And you get them. Thelma and Louise, The Outsiders episodes have been my favorites so far.

papi nelsoNew host or hire an editorSo painful to get thorough an episode. Please edit the hosts filler words. All throughout the interview for eternal sunshine I kept hearing “yeah, yeah, right, ok, ok, ok, uh huh uh huh”

antbrandoNew Favorite PodcastWho needs film school when this podcast exists! A MUST LISTEN for anyone that loves to hear about the fascinating behind the scenes of how classic, indelible films came to be from the producers who willed them into existence. Shepherded week after week by one of the most prolific film producers working today. Daniela is such a fun and engaging host. I learn something new every episode. Keep ‘em coming!
-

joycemargDaniela is such a natural! Her voice, warmth, fluency in the craft and industry of film are riveting. Her dad’s story of starting out in Hollywood has it all and it’s such a great foundation for her POV. Can’t wait for the next episodes!
