Lives Well Lived

Lives Well Lived is hosted by Peter Singer & Kasia de Lazari Radek. Episodes consist of interviews with remarkable guests who have lived well, both in the sense of living an ethical life, but also in that they are fulfilled and happy with what they have achieved in their lives. Some of these guests will be well-known figures, but others who are doing extraordinary things will be unfamiliar to almost all of our listeners. The conversations will often cover ground that involves ethics, how to live well, and how to make a positive difference in the world. It will inspire and empower its audience to change their own lives for the better.

    Thought provoking
Interesting guests. BUT…Kasia De Lazari Radek is difficult to understand and distracts from the content. May I suggest a dialect coach to improve her pronunciation and articulation to make her more understandable.

    DAVID DUCHOVNY
Wow I’m so impressed with this podcast with David. It was an interesting, intellectual and informative conversation by his peers about his life experiences and how he was affected by fame and coping mechanisms. It sounded like he was very comfortable about answering your questions honestly and without any hesitation. I believe that this interview was the best one I’ve heard by him! This interview was completed probably before David knew he was going to be on the History Channel, April 4th at 10pm EDT uncovering Secrets Declassified. I hope that you can see it and have another fascinating conversation with him. Sincerely, Linda Arnold

    Interviewers with agendas
The interviewers take an aggressive, judgmental tone and posture with Joyce Carol Oates as she explains her experience as a person and writer, and oddly, don’t accept her description of her own experience. She’s trying to explain creativity, but they’re interested in labels and platitudes. Oates says “I’m not really interested in myself” as they try to pin the title “genius” on her, which she rejects. It’s an interesting point of view, but their insistence on hero worship deprives Oates from explaining how she works, and why she’s so incredibly prolific, by putting herself and her ego aside. A missed opportunity to learn from her, but one of the interviewers makes it all about herself. Watch her course on MasterClass if you want a better understanding of JCR. This was a very disappointing interview because they don’t listen to or seem to care about the person they’re interviewing.

Great guests - and lots of bias on the part of the hosts.
I want to like this podcast, and maybe it will get better for me with time. The guest list is great. I was expecting to hear how guests interpret what a well lived life looks like. It feels more like the hosts know the answers and are interested in supporting their beliefs more than engaging in a curious exploration of others’ ideas. So many podcasts, so little time.
